Now in its third year, the Great Chefs Series is a collaboration led by Josef Chromy Wines, Tourism Northern Tasmania and TasTAFE Drysdale. The series provides an innovative teaching environment and unique learning opportunities for Tasmanian cookery and kitchen operations students. Previously, students from Tasmania’s northern regional city have worked alongside such luminaries as Tetsuya Wakuda (Australia), Alain Passard (France), Dominique Crenn (US), Christian Puglisi (Denmark) and Guillaume Brahimi (Australia) among others.
Between May and October 2018, Josef Chromy Wines will host a series of 7-course degustation dinners prepared by visiting guest chefs and Tasmanian students. The dinners will feature fine Tasmanian produce matched with premium Josef Chromy wines. The series will culminate with a dinner presented by Brazilian Chef Alex Atala, described by Time Magazine as one of the Top 100 influential people in the world and owner of D.O.M., ranked no. 16 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
